INTEGRATED PHOTOSENSITIVE LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an integrated photosensitive liquid crystal display.

SOLUTION: A liquid crystal device comprises: a front electrode layer; a rear electrode layer; and liquid crystal material located between the front electrode layer and the rear electrode layer. A polarizer is located between the liquid crystal material and the front electrode layer and changes electrical potential between the rear electrode layer and the front electrode layer, and modifies portions of the liquid crystal material so as to change polarization of incident light. A plurality of photosensitive elements are located with the rear electrode layer and a processor determines a position of at least one photosensitive element that has been inhibited from detecting ambient light among the plurality of the photosensitive elements.
