<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the radial compactification of an automatic transmission using only a single pinion planetary gear set. <P>SOLUTION: The automatic transmission, having first to third gear sets 10, 20, 30 composed of the single pinion planetary gear set, includes first and second clutches 40, 50 which connect or disconnect an input shaft 4 and a predetermined rotation element of the gear sets, and first to third brakes 60, 70, 80 which connect or disconnect a case 6 and a predetermined rotation element of the gear sets, which realizes sixth forward speeds and a reverse speed. The first and second clutches 40, 50 are arranged on the outer periphery of the part at a driving source side in the input shaft 4, and first to third gear sets 10, 20, 30 are arranged on the outer periphery of the part at a counter driving source side. The diameter of the part at the counter driving source side in which the first to third gear sets 10, 20, 30 in the input shaft 4 are arranged is smaller than that of a portion 4d in the input shaft 4 in which the first and second clutches 40, 50 are connected, and also the part at the driving source side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
