<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve print quality, while controlling an increase in the a printing time. <P>SOLUTION: The printing apparatus includes: a chromatic color nozzle row comprising K pieces of nozzles and an achromatic color nozzle row comprising (n*K) pieces (n is an integer ≥2) of the nozzles. The printing apparatus forms in a color area, the image area with one time of the image forming operation in which the chromatic color nozzle row and the achromatic color nozzle row are used and the (m-1) times of the image forming operation (m is an integer ≥1 and n or less) in which only the chromatic color nozzles are used, and forms in the monochromatic region, the image area with one time of image forming operation in which only the achromatic color nozzle row is used. In the printing apparatus, the achromatic color nozzles are grouped into a plurality of groups so that the resolution of the image forming operation of one time of each group becomes the same to the resolution of the image forming operation of m times of each chromatic color nozzle row, and the print data for the chromatic color nozzle row and the print data for the achromatic color group are generated with a common method. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
