<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation input device employing a capacitance sensor and allowing everybody to operate with high reliability with little false detection while exhibiting excellent operability. <P>SOLUTION: A remote controller 1 is equipped with an operation switch 5 including a capacitance sensor 3 for detecting change in the capacitance between a first electrode 31 arranged on the bottom 51 of a recess 50 surrounded by the inner peripheral surface 52, and a second electrode 32 arranged around the first electrode 31.
