<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compressor stably operating by enhancing rigidity of a shaft member. <P>SOLUTION: The compressor has a casing (11), a motor (21), a compressing element (30), and the shaft member (22). The motor (21) has a stator (50) fixed to the inside of the casing, and a rotor (40) rotating while facing the stator in the casing. The compressing element (30) is housed in the casing and compresses operating fluid. The shaft member (22) has a shaft body (22a) and a cylindrical member (22b). The shaft body (22a) is constituted by coupling the rotor and the compressing element and is rotatably equipped in the casing.
