PROACTIVE CONTROL OF THE OPERATION OF A WIND TURBINE

It is described a method for controlling the operation of a wind turbine (100) comprising a structural component (110, 14, 120, 122, 125), which during an operation of the wind turbine (100) is exposed to a mechanical load. The method comprises determining a value of a quantity being indicative for an operational condition of the wind turbine (100), predicting, based on the determined value, the mechanical load acting on the structural component (110, 114, 120, 122, 125) within a future time period, selecting a control mode for operating the wind turbine (100) in response to the predicted mechanical load, and controlling, during the future time period, the operation of the wind turbine (100) with the selected control mode. It is further described a machine load control system (150), which is adapted for controlling and/or for carrying out the described wind turbine operating control method.
