<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator allowing a battery to achieve small internal resistance, and a lithium ion secondary battery comprising the separator and achieving small internal resistance. <P>SOLUTION: The separator for a lithium ion secondary battery comprises a resin porous layer, and a heat-resistant porous layer provided thereon.
