<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoacoustic imaging apparatus configured to obtain ultrasound images, efficiently detecting both ultrasonic waves and acoustic waves and obtaining high-quality ultrasound images and photoacoustic images. <P>SOLUTION: A probe for a photoacoustic imaging apparatus is equipped with: a light-irradiating unit 74 that emits light to be irradiated on a subject to generate sound waves; an ultrasonic wave-generating unit 28 that emits ultrasonic waves to be irradiated on the subject; a first piezoelectric body 28 that detects the ultrasonic waves reflected by the subject; and a second piezoelectric body 30 that detects acoustic waves generated from the subject by the light irradiation. In the probe, a piezoelectric body obtained from an inorganic material is used for the first piezoelectric body 28, and a piezoelectric body obtained from an organic material is used for the second piezoelectric body 30. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
