The purpose of the present invention is to provide a renewable energy generator with which pipes connecting a hydraulic pump and a hydraulic motor can be shortened and the size and the weight of a nacelle cam be reduced. A renewable energy generator (1) is provided with: a tower (2); a nacelle (4) provided in the front end (2B) of the tower (2); a main shaft (14) that rotates with a rotor blade (6B) and is housed in the nacelle (4); a hydraulic pump (8) attached to the main shaft (14) and housed in the nacelle (4); a hydraulic motor (10) driven by operating oil supplied from the hydraulic pump (8); a generator (12) connected to the hydraulic motor (10); and pipes for circulating the operating oil between the hydraulic pump (8) and the hydraulic motor (10). The hydraulic motor (10) is housed in at least one of the upper part of the nacelle (4) and the tower (2). The generator (12) is stored in at least one of the nacelle (4) and the upper part of the tower (2). At least one of the hydraulic motor (10) and the generator (12) is placed in a space excluding the area (5) between the main shaft (14) and the hydraulic pump (8), and the back end wall (4A) on the far side from the rotor blade of the walls of the nacelle (4).
