The information processing device of the present invention comprises: an index generation means for generating index data that are stored in distributed fashion by a plurality of servers, the index data being configured such that for each set of data point information which includes metadata indicating characteristics of data to be searched, another set of data point information located at a distance, based on a pre-set reference, to the data point information and within a pre-set range is associated as reference point information; and a communication cost storage means for storing, for each server in which the index data are stored, communication cost information indicating a pre-set cost incurred in communication for each server; and the index generation means selects reference point information for performing association for a specific set of data point information, on the basis of the communication cost information of the server in which the index data that correspond to the reference point information are stored. |
