Provided is a resin composition which is obtained by mixing an epoxy compound represented by general formula (1), an acid anhydride and a hardening accelerator, wherein the epoxy compound is purified such that, in a chromatogram obtained by gas chromatography analysis, the ratio B/A of the peak area B of the peak for heavy constituents with a longer hold-up time than the epoxy compound, relative to the peak area A of the peak for the epoxy compound, is no more than 2.0×10-3.
