PURPOSE: A cream type cleansing composition is provided to provide and mildness and clean skin, mildness and smooth skin feeling. CONSTITUTION: A cream type cleansing composition comprises 0.5-1.2 % of a polymeric emulsifier, 0.5-4% of water-insoluble oil, and 1-4 % of fatty alcohol, and 92% or more of water. The polymerizable emulsifier is salt-sensitive. The polymerizable emulsifier comprises a monomer comprising a hydrophilic repeating unit. The monomer is selected from a group consisting of acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, maleic acid, itaconic acid, and combinations thereof. The ratio of the fatty alcohol to the water-insoluble oil in the composition is 2:1.
