<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide inkjet recording ink, good in color balance of an image and giving high optical density as well as good color tone, and to provide an inkjet recording method using the ink. <P>SOLUTION: This ink composition includes at least one water-soluble dye being an azo compound expressed by general formula (1) and a water-soluble short wavelength dye having an azo group, in the formula, A represents a substituted or nonsubstituted aryl group, or a substituted or nonsubstituted nitrogen-containing five-membered heterocyclic group; G represents a nitrogen atom or -C(R<SB POS="POST">2</SB>)=; R<SB POS="POST">2</SB>represents a hydrogen atom, sulfo, carboxy, substituted or nonsubstituted carbamoyl or cyano group; Y<SB POS="POST">2</SB>, Y<SB POS="POST">3</SB>and Y<SB POS="POST">4</SB>each independently represent a hydrogen atom or a monovalent substituent, and Y<SB POS="POST">2</SB>, Y<SB POS="POST">3</SB>and Y<SB POS="POST">4</SB>may form a ring by bonding one another, provided that there is no case that all of Y<SB POS="POST">2</SB>, Y<SB POS="POST">3</SB>and Y<SB POS="POST">4</SB>represent hydrogen atoms simultaneously; and Ms each independently represent a hydrogen atom or a monovalent counter-cation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
