<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of shortening a fast print time under such conditions as having a low occurrence probability of toner blister. <P>SOLUTION: The fixing device includes: a fixing member heated by a heating source; a pressure member coming into press contact with the fixing member to form a fixing nip part; a pressure member surface temperature detecting member for detecting a surface temperature of the pressure member; a pressure member contacting/separating mechanism for separably moving the pressure member from the fixing member; and an ambient temperature detecting member for detecting an ambient temperature of the image forming apparatus including the fixing device. When the pressure member contacting/separating mechanism separates the pressure member from the fixing device in a non-passage time when no recording medium passes through the fixing device, the fixing device adjusts a separation amount of the pressure member from the fixing member using the pressure member contacting/separating mechanism based on the detection result of the pressure member surface temperature detecting member and the detection result of the ambient temperature detecting member. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
