<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable inspection to be performed without being affected by vehicle body rocking (rolling and yawing, etc.) during the running of an inspection vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: An inspection apparatus, which is mounted on the inspection vehicle that runs along rails, measures a state of peripheral structures (height of third rail) related to vehicle operation. On the inspection vehicle, a rocking state measuring means is mounted that measures a state that the vehicle itself rocks (rolling and yawing, etc. of the vehicle) to the rails during the running of the inspection vehicle. The inspection apparatus corrects an inspection result on the basis of the rocking state of the inspection vehicle measured by the rocking state measuring means.
