<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a novel technique for estimating an error included in a pseudo distance. <P>SOLUTION: A satellite signal is received from a satellite and an observation pseudo distance from a receiving point to the satellite is determined. Furthermore, a Doppler frequency of the received satellite signal is measured, and the Doppler frequency is used to calculate a predictive pseudo distance. The observation pseudo distance and the predictive pseudo distance are then used to estimate a first error included in the observation pseudo distance. On the other hand, a given receiving position is used to estimate a second error included in the observation pseudo distance.
