<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a specific organism component detecting method that is capable of stably detecting microbes or viruses in a sample with high precision. <P>SOLUTION: A multiple regression expression is determined for the whole color space data of specific pixels reflecting a specific fluorescence reaction 81 that specific microbes or viruses generate at excitation. Next, plural types of excitation digital images D1, D2, and D3 when a sample is irradiated with excitation light X are taken under the same condition as the condition under which the multiple regression expression has been determined (S1 to S6). Further, color space data is determined on a pixel-to-pixel basis for each of the excitation digital images D1, D2, and D3, and a detection degree Y on a pixel-to-pixel basis is determined by substituting the whole color space data of each pixel unit located at the same position in the excitation digital images D1, D2, and D3 into the multiple regression expression (S7 and S8).
