<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymaleimide fine particle having a particle diameter in the range of 10 nm-10 μm and excellent monodispersity, and a method for producing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The polymaleimide fine particle has a repeating unit represented by general formula I, wherein R<SB POS="POST">1</SB>represents an aryl group which may have a substituent or an alkyl group which may have a substituent, and they may link together to form one substituent.
