<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a culture apparatus for microscopic observation that is capable of efficiently keeping an atmosphere (humidity, temperature, gas composition) in a culture space constant without making a structure complex. <P>SOLUTION: The culture apparatus for microscopic observation includes a storage unit 3 for storing a container holding a culture solution A and a sample B, and a lid body 21 for closing an opening on the upper surface side of the storage unit 3, and is installed on a stage S of a microscope and used to microscopically observe the sample B. The culture apparatus includes a gas concentration detection means 33 for detecting the concentration of a desired gas component in an atmospheric gas in the culture space, and a gas supply means for supplying a gas into the culture space according to concentration information from the gas concentration detection means 33.
