The present invention relates to a reception device capable of demodulating a conveyed signal with high precision, a reception method and a program. The disclosed reception device includes an amplification unit that amplifies a received signal, an adjustment unit that adjusts the gain of the amplification unit according to the power of the signal, a demodulation unit that demodulates the amplified signal, and a detection unit that detects intervals in which the same information from the signal comes consecutively. In accordance with the interval detection results, the adjustment unit restricts processing that adjusts the gain of the amplification unit. The present disclosure is applicable to a reception device that receives broadcast signals compliant with DVB-C2 via a CATV network.
