The positions of the nodes and antinodes of the standing waves (SW) that are generated in the waveguide (106) are arranged substantially symmetrically to the center of a heating chamber (103); therefore, substantially uniform microwave heating of an article (102) being heated is possible without a rotating mechanism.</p>
