PURPOSE: A drain apparatus of a drain pump room and a control method thereof are provided to sense the level of water staying in a pit of a drain pump room and automatically drain the water, thereby preventing the immersion of a drain pump. CONSTITUTION: A drain apparatus of a drain pump room comprises a water level sensing unit which senses the level of water staying in a pit(30) of a drain pump room(20), a pit pump which drains the water staying in the pit, a control unit which operates the pit pump according to the water level sensed by the water level sensing unit and generates an alarm, and an alarm unit, including an alarm lamp and/or a buzzer, which outputs the alarm generated by the control unit.
