<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the life expectancy of a fixation belt in a fixation device having a pressing member loosely inserted inside a fixation belt including a resistance heat generation layer. <P>SOLUTION: A fixing device has a pressing roller 150 loosely inserted inside a fixation belt 154 including a resistance heat generation layer, forms a fixation nip N by pressing a pressure roller 160 provided outside the fixation belt 154 against the pressing roller 150 via the fixation belt 154, and performs heat fixation by allowing paper to pass through the fixation nip N. The fixation device also includes a pair of power supply members 170 which contact with electrode layers 154e formed in both sides having a paper passing area therebetween on an outer peripheral surface of the fixation belt 154, and supply power to the fixation belt 154. The pair of power supply members 170 are provided in positions where at least a part of a first area in contact with the electrode layer 154e overlaps a second area formed by extending the fixation nip N in the longitudinal direction of the pressing roller 150. The length in the longitudinal direction or a position of the pressure roller 160 is determined so as to contact with the back surface of an area of the fixation belt 154, where at least the first and the second areas are overlapped with each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
