摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lateral electric field driving type liquid crystal display device including a reflection mode, that can improve the contrast ratio. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device 10 includes a reflection region 21. A reflection plate 16 is formed so as to have an uneven cross section in accordance with the reflection region 21 on a TFT substrate 14. On an insulation layer 41 on the reflection plate 16, a pixel electrode 35 and a common electrode 37 for driving a liquid crystal layer 13 are formed. The tilt angle of the unevenness of a region of the reflection plate 16 below the pixel electrode 35 and the common electrode 37 is smaller than the tilt angle of the unevenness of a region between the pixel electrode 35 and the common electrode 37. Thus, the light transmitting after reflection on the electrode where the liquid crystal does not move is not emitted to an observer side, thereby improving the contrast ratio. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
