<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for producing metallic gallium with which copper can be efficiently removed in a method for producing metallic gallium from gallium and copper-containing raw material. <P>SOLUTION: The production method contains a step of dissolving gallium and copper-containing raw material with an acid or alkali solution to be a gallium ion-containing solution, adding gallium or a gallium-containing composition to the gallium ion-containing solution, precipitating copper by the substitution reaction of the copper ions in the gallium ion-containing solution and the gallium to remove the same, next neutralizing the recovered gallium ion-containing solution to remove neutralized precipitates, thereafter, electrolyzing the recovered gallium ion-containing solution, and precipitating gallium metal, thus obtaining metallic gallium. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
