<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle driving support apparatus which makes collision preventing control function effectively while respecting the will of a driver. <P>SOLUTION: When detecting the step-in of a driver on a brake pedal during brake control, the traveling control unit 5 determines that the driver is highly aware of a possibility of a collision between his/her own vehicle 1 and a control subject, thus suspending the brake control. This prevents unnecessary intervention by brake control that is against the driver's will. When an extent of the driver's step-in on the brake pedal changes toward a release side at a rate equal to or higher than a set rate in a status that the possibility of the collision against the control subject is high, the suspended brake control is resumed.
