<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound suitable for image information on a specified image area. <P>SOLUTION: A sound information generation device includes a reception part for receiving the specification of an image area in an image and a sound information generation part for generating, from image information on the specified image area, sound information corresponding to the image information.
