<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly conduct purge control, even if concentration of alcohol in fuel changes due to fuel supply. <P>SOLUTION: The engine 10 includes: a fuel tank 36 where a gasoline or alcoholic fuel is stored; a canister 38 that adsorbs an evaporation fuel generated in the fuel tank 36; and a purge control valve 44 that introduces the vaporation fuel adsorbed by the canister 38 into an intake air system as a purge gas. An ECU 60 periodically detects concentration of the alcohol in the fuel by an alcohol concentration sensor 54. Moreover, the ECU, when the concentration of the alcohol changes, controls a degree of opening of the purge control valve 44 based on the concentration before and after it changes.
