Disclosed are a resource optimization method based on a service license and a device thereof. The method comprises: configuring the license number range of a blade server and the conversion relationship between each traffic flow and the license number; monitoring a service and the traffic flow on each blade server; and when the monitored traffic flow on the blade server is not within the traffic flow range corresponding to the license number range of the blade server, optimizing use of the blade server. The present invention can, on the basis of providing unified license management for various services in the practical operation, take into account the bearing capability of the blade server for a corresponding service and the running situation of the service, and reasonably and efficiently utilize the blade server resources, so as to be capable of well developing each service, and utilizing the license resources to a maximum extent.
