<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To completely and cleanly cut an object to be cut without causing a medium to jam. <P>SOLUTION: A cutting device sets non-cutting parts 32 in line segments 31 in an object S to be cut in the medium M and precuts the line segments 31 while leaving the non-cutting parts 32. After precutting, the cutting device cuts each non-cutting part 32 and fully cuts the object S to be cut. In this way, the distance that the medium M is pulled by a blade 20 is very small if the non-cutting parts 32 are cut using the blade 20 after precutting, or the non-cutting parts 32 can be cut by only inserting the blade 20.
