PURPOSE: A primer for detecting bacteria causing infectious oral diseases is provided to ensure high sensitivity and to quickly and simply detect and sense infection of a periodontal tissue. CONSTITUTION: A primer for detecting bacteria causing infectious oral diseases specifically binds to a polynucleotide of rpoB(DNA-directed RNA polymerase subunit beta). The primer has a polynucleotide selected from bases of sequence numbers 1-88 or complementary bases thereof. The infectious oral diseases are periodontal diseases, marginal gingivitis, dental caries, dimension, canalis radicis dentis disease, or osteomyelitis. A composition for detecting the bacteria causing infectious oral diseases contains the primer.
