Abstract An image processing system includes plural 5 intermediate-data generating apparatuses (110, 114) and one or more drawing-data generating apparatuses (120). The intermediate-data generating apparatuses (110, 114) interpret data of pages forming document data described in a PDL, the pages being assigned to the corresponding 10 intermediate-data generating apparatuses (110, 114), so as to generate plural elements of intermediate data of the pages. The one or more drawing-data generating apparatuses (120) each obtain, among the plural elements of intermediate data generated by the plural intermediate-data generating 15 apparatuses (110, 114), elements of the intermediate data assigned to each of the one or more drawing-data generating apparatuses (120) and each draw the obtained elements of the intermediate data so as to generate drawing data including information concerning each of pixels forming each of the 20 obtained elements of the intermediate data. The one or more drawing-data generating apparatuses (120) each include a memory (123) that stores intermediate data of a common element used in the obtained elements of the intermediate data assigned to the one or more drawing-data generating 25 apparatuses (120) or stores drawing data of the common element generated from the intermediate data of the common element. If the intermediate data or the drawing data of the common element used in the obtained elements of the intermediate data assigned to the one or more drawing-data 5 generating apparatuses (120) is stored in the memory (123), the one or more drawing-data generating apparatuses (120) generate drawing data of the obtained elements of the intermediate data assigned to the one or more drawing-data generating apparatuses (120) by using the intermediate data 10 or the drawing data of the common element stored in the memory (123).
