<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable reliable transportation of an IC card and precisely perform scanning of a printing portion of the IC card even if a protection sticker is adhered to a back surface of the IC card and a thickness of the IC card itself is increased. <P>SOLUTION: A card scanning system 20 includes: a card insertion unit 21 in which an IC card 11 is inserted; a thickness detection unit 23 for detecting a thickness of the IC card 11; a card transportation unit 26 for transporting the IC card 11; and a scanner 25a and a secondary scanner 25b for scanning a front surface 11a and a back surface 11b of the IC card 11 respectively. The thickness detection unit 23, the card transportation unit 26, the scanner 25a, and the secondary scanner 25b are controlled by a control device 31. The control device 31 adjusts a space between transportation rollers 26a and 26b of the card transportation unit 26 and a focal depth of the scanner 25a with respect to the IC card 11 based on a detection signal from the thickness detection unit 23. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
