PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique with which intermodulation distortion can be suppressed.

SOLUTION: A gain control circuit 10A comprises: a first amplifier 12 which amplifies an input signal; and a signal determination part 20 which determines a signal inputted into the first amplifier 12 and controls an amplification factor of the first amplifier 12 based on the determination result. The communication apparatus comprises: the first amplifier 12 which amplifies a received signal; a signal processing part 14 which performs reception processing based on a signal outputted from the first amplifier 12; and a signal determination part 20 which determines the received signal inputted into the first amplifier 12 and controls the amplification factor of the first amplifier 12 based on the determination result. In the gain control method, the input signal inputted into the first amplifier 12 which amplifies an input signal is determined, and the amplification factor of the first amplifier 12 is controlled in a feed forward system based on the determination result.
