<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parallax image generating apparatus capable of generating a parallax image in which a hidden surface is corrected with no discomfort. <P>SOLUTION: A control part 11 calculates a line of sight straight line 31a which penetrates a sampling point X<SB POS="POST">s</SB>and camera positions (C<SB POS="POST">Xi</SB>and C<SB POS="POST">Zi</SB>) to be processed, and takes any one of sections through which the line of sight straight line 31a penetrates among the sections of depth values as an employed section. A pixel position representing a value of deeper side is taken as a reference position among a left depth value 34a and a right depth value 35a representing both ends of the employed section. Then the control part 11 determines whether or not the reference position is a hidden surface based on a label image 3. If it is not a hidden surface, the pixel value at the reference position in a two-dimensional image 2 is taken as a pixel value of the sampling point X<SB POS="POST">s</SB>. If it is a hidden surface, a hidden surface border position is identified, and based on the hidden surface border position, a folding-back copying is performed to allocate a compensation pixel value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
