PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer having high hole injection and transport capacity, and to provide a composition for an organic electroluminescent element containing the polymer, and to provide an organic electroluminescent element having a low driving voltage and high luminous efficiency, and to provide a high quality organic EL display device and organic EL illumination.

SOLUTION: The polymer includes a repeating unit represented by formula (1), wherein Ar1to Ar3each represents an aromatic hydrocarbon ring group which may have a substituent, or an aromatic heterocyclic group which may have a substituent, and the benzene ring may have a substituent other than -NAr1- and -NAr2Ar3.
