<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a luminaire and an illumination system in which the lighting state and the unlighting state can be maintained individually. <P>SOLUTION: A transmission unit 203 transmits a specific control signal (all channels) for operating a plurality of luminaires where the setting (setting state) of designation information is different (e.g. a state where channel 1, channel 2 are set). A setting unit 103 sets the designation information indicating whether or not designation by all channels is accepted.
