<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat tube for a heat exchanger which can be comparatively accurately coated with flux in manufacturing. <P>SOLUTION: This flat tube 7 for a heat exchanger is manufactured by bending both reinforcement wall forming sections 23 of a metal element sheet 20 in the same direction toward left wall forming sections 11A, 11B to form projections 15A for reinforcement walls, then bending the metal element sheet 20 at both side wall forming sections 21, 22 so that both left wall forming sections 11A, 11B are in parallel to a right wall forming section 12A, to bring the projections 15A for both reinforcement walls into contact with an inner face of the right wall forming section 12A, bringing the projections 15A for both reinforcement walls into closely kept into contact with each other, and brazing the projections 15A for both reinforcement walls and the right wall forming section 12A, and the projections 15A for both reinforcement walls. The projections 15A for reinforcement walls has a flat plate shape perpendicular to the left wall forming sections 11A, 11B. Bent sections 15B perpendicular to the projections 15A for reinforcement walls are formed on tips of the projections 15A for both reinforcement walls.
