<p>A process for making a curved panel from a polymer composite material comprises the steps of: providing a predetermined number of superimposed sheets of polymer composite fabric, each sheet including a woven mesh of fibres of a first polyolefin material and a coating layer of the fibres, made from a second polyolefin material having a lower melting point than the fibres; consolidating the superimposed layers by applying pressure and temperature for a predetermined time at a level such that the coating layers of the sheets are at least partially melted and are joined together to form a single panel which is substantially flat; moulding the panel to produce a panel with a curved shape, this step taking place within 60 seconds of the completion of the step of consolidating the component sheets of the panel, in order to avoid phenomena of shrinkage and delamination of the panel.</p> |
