EXPOSURE DEVICE, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: an exposure device capable of condensing diffracted light in a direction vertical to the exposure device, and reducing unnecessary light emitted from a light emitting element and reaching an exposure object surface without being diffracted by a hologram element; and an image forming apparatus using the same.

SOLUTION: This exposure device includes one or more light emitting elements each emitting light in a normal direction of a substrate from a luminous point; one or more hologram elements that are recorded on a recording layer arranged on the substrate to form sets with the respective light emitting elements to diffract light emitted from the light emitting element and condense the diffracted light on a condensing point located on an exposure object surface and on a line extending in the normal direction from the luminous point; and one or more light inhibiting parts that are each provided for each of the plurality of sets, are arranged on a line that connects the luminous point to the condensing point such that the light diffracted by the hologram element passes through the outside of the light inhibiting part and condenses at the condensing point, to inhibit transmission of zero-order light that goes straight toward the condensing point from the luminous point without being diffracted by the hologram element.
