<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a lighting state at a wire intersection portion less visible. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display element includes a first substrate, a second substrate, a liquid crystal layer, a first alignment film, a second alignment film, first and second polarization plates whose absorption axes are substantially orthogonal to each other, a first electrode and a first wire part provided for the first substrate, and a second electrode and a second wire part provided for the second substrate. The first wire part and the second wire part partly overlap with each other to define an intersection portion. This intersection portion has a pair of first outer peripheral parts and a pair of second outer peripheral parts that are substantially orthogonal to each other. Each of the first outer peripheral parts and the second outer peripheral parts has an angle of approximately 45° to each of the absorption axes of the first and second polarization plates. The first outer peripheral part is substantially orthogonal to, and the second outer peripheral part is substantially parallel to the direction of each alignment treatment of the first alignment film and the second alignment film. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
