<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the insertion of a tongue into the insertion port of a buckle. <P>SOLUTION: In a buckle device 10, webbing is mounted on an occupant by inserting the tongue into the insertion port 20A of the buckle 12. Here, a support mechanism 22 supports the buckle 12 so as to rotate at the lower side of the buckle 12, and the buckle 12 is turnably structured around upper side from the top surface. Accordingly, when the tongue is inserted into the insertion port 20A, the direction of inserting the tongue into the insertion port 20A does not face the insertion port 20A in the opening direction, so that even when the buckle 12 is pressed by the tongue on the peripheral surface of the insertion port 20A, the buckle 12 is rotated to the side that makes the opening direction of the insertion port 20A face the insertion direction of the tongue into the insertion port 20A.
