PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the burden on an operator by eliminating the need for operation from an upper floor or a lower floor when strengthening an existing building by installing studs.

SOLUTION: A stud 3 comprises a horizontal part 31 and a droop part 32, and is constituted such that the horizontal part 31 is rigidly connected to a ceiling-side beam 23, and the droop part 32 is connected to an upper surface 21a of a floor slab 21 from an upper surface side of the floor slab 21. The rigid connection of the horizontal part 31 and the connection of the droop part 32 are thereby made only by operation on a floor where the stud 3 is to be installed, and operation from the upper floor or lower floor is not necessary, so the burden on the operator and the burden on residents on the upper floor and lower floor can be reduced.
