<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel porcine circovirus strain causing the post-weaning multisystemic wasting syndrome (PMWS), a diagnostic reagent and a method for diagnosing the same, a vaccination method, a vaccine, and methods for producing the vaccine and reagent. <P>SOLUTION: The novel porcine circovirus strain is isolated from pulmonary and ganglionary specimens obtained from a farm with livestock suffering from the PMWS. A refined preparation of the strain, an attenuated or inactivated vaccine derived from the refined preparation, a recombinant live vaccine, a plasmid vaccine and a subunit vaccine, and the diagnostic reagent and the method for diagnosing the syndrome, are also provided. A DNA fragment for use in producing subunits in an expression vector in vitro or a DNA fragment as a sequence to be integrated in an expression vector in vitro of virus or plasmid type, is also provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
