<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate optical measurement using an embedded passage in a transparent medium. <P>SOLUTION: One embodiment of the present invention provides an optical device 100, which includes: a transparent medium 102 having an embedded passage 110 formed inside, the passage at least partially communicating to the outside; and a transparent coating material 120 disposed on at least a part of a wall face enclosing the embedded passage 110. A typical transparent coating material 120 is a transparent conductor formed from a precursor sol by a sol-gel method.
