<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely perform overcurrent protection operation during initial charging of a bootstrap capacitor. <P>SOLUTION: An inverter device 1 includes: an inverter circuit 2; a first drive circuit 3 for driving a first switching element 8 in the upper arm of the inverter circuit 2; a second drive circuit 4 for driving the second switching element 9 in a lower arm; a bootstrap capacitor 5 for supplying charge power to the first drive circuit 3 as a power source voltage; and a current limit resistor 6 for limiting a charging current to the bootstrap capacitor 5. The inverter device 1 drives the second switching element 9 by an ON/OFF signal output from the second drive circuit 4 to perform initial charging of the bootstrap capacitor 5. The ON time of the above ON/OFF signal is made to be approximately equal to the time required for at least from when the second switching element 9 is turned on to when an overload current is determined based on information on current flowing therethrough and the second switching element 9 is turned off. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
