<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of controlling the temperature of a fixing member in accordance with the temperature of a pressure member regardless of whether means for detecting the temperature of the pressure member is provided, and performing a stable fixing operation. <P>SOLUTION: A fixing unit 60 includes: a fixing belt 61 for fixing a toner image on a sheet P; a pressure roll 62 which comes into pressure-contact with the outer peripheral surface of the fixing belt 61 to form a nip portion N, through which the sheet P holding an unfixed toner image passes, between the fixing belt 61 and the roll itself; an IH heater 80 for heating the fixing belt 61; a driving motor 90 for rotating the pressure roll 62 to rotate the fixing belt 61; and a rotation detector for detecting the number of rotations of the fixing belt 61. The IH heater 80 controls the heat amount applied to the fixing belt 61 after starting the fixing operation in accordance with the number of rotations of the fixing belt 61 which changes in response to the change in the temperature of the pressure roll 62. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
