<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the occurrence of abnormal noise resulting from a coil part displacement when a coil spring is compressed with regard to cylinder device improvement. <P>SOLUTION: The cylinder device includes a cylinder 1, an annular rod guide 2 provided at one end side of the cylinder 1, a piston 3 of which outer periphery is made to slidably contact the inner periphery of the cylinder 1, a piston rod 4 which is inserted inside the cylinder 1 freely movably via the piston 3 and which penetrates the rod guide 2, and a rebound member 5 provided between the rod guide 2 and the piston 3 to alleviate a shock at the time of full extension. In this device, the rebound member 5 consists of the coil spring 6 arranged at the outer periphery of the piston rod 4 and a pair of upper and lower holder members 7, 8, which are fitted to fixed parts 61, 62 formed at both ends thereof and in which the piston rod 4 is passed through axial center holes 7a, 8a.
