<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent generation of burrs without leaking a plastic fluidized mother material generated in pin insertion and to enable stable joining. <P>SOLUTION: A friction agitating joining tool 100 is provided with a pin 102 on the shoulder face 101a of a rotating rod 101. Recovery grooves 103 are formed along the peripheral edge of the base end of the pin 102. The volume of the recovery grooves 103 is equal to the volume of the pin 102 inserted in the mother material. The plastic fluidized material generated in pin insertion is recovered in the recovery grooves 103 by filling them and does not turn into burrs.
