PURPOSE: A transfer device for rolled products and a control method thereof are provided to improve the quality of rolled products by reducing the number of times of collision between a hot product and the transfer device. CONSTITUTION: A transfer device for rolled products comprises a moving table(50) which is installed and moved between a feed roller table(10) and a charge roller table(30), a driving unit reciprocating the moving table, a sensing unit which senses the departure and arrival of the moving table and whether the moving table accommodates a work piece, and a control unit which controls the driving unit and the moving table according to a signal transmitted from the sensing unit.
